Robin, Erithacus rubecula, 13 cm

Some of these ‘neckless’ birds with their characteristic red-orange breasts and sparkling song, migrate south from central Europe in winter. Their place is then taken by Northern European robins. The birds live solitary lives outside the breeding season.
