The row (light)
Bring light and humor into your home with this Dubout lamp, ‘L’Alignement.’ On the lamp, you’ll see a row of kittens: curious, mischievous, or bored, perfectly captured in Dubout’s typical, detailed style. The scene plays with the idea of order versus feline mischief. It is one of the most beloved and recognizable drawings from his famous ‘Les Chats’-series.
Albert Dubout
Albert Dubout was a French illustrator, painter, and humorist, born in 1905 in Marseille and died in 1976 in Saint-Aunès, France. He became especially known for his satirical drawings and cartoonish cat figures, which later evolved into the beloved Dubout Cats collection of figurines and art objects. Dubout plays with the ideas of conformity, bureaucracy, and the hustle and bustle of modern life. His work is both humorous and socially critical.
