Corneille

Guillaume Corneille (1922 – 2010) Corneille was a Dutch painter and member of the CoBrA movement. Originally inspired by the work of Míro, Picasso and Paul Klee, he freed himself from this influence in 1948 and joined CoBrA. He is best known for his figurative work where birds, cats, flowers and figures constitute his artistic vocabulary. He was interred in Auvers-sur-Oise (France), where Vincent van Gogh was also buried in 1890.
