Crane

Walter Crane (1845-1915) Walter Crane was an influential, internationally successful illustrator and designer as well as a prominent member of the 19th-century Arts and Crafts movement that rejected the industrial, mass production of classically styled utilitarian and decorative objects. As a committed socialist, Crane argued in favour of the return of craftsmanship to end the terrible working conditions labourers faced in the industrial applied arts sector.
