Matisse

Henri Matisse was a pioneer of Fauvism, an art movement that valued emotional expression over realism. He experimented with simple lines and large, vibrant fields of color. His style laid the groundwork for modern movements such as Expressionism and abstract art.
Later in life, while bedridden due to illness, he developed his cut-out technique; he “painted” with scissors and color.
