Nosybirds, Jos Brölmann
Nosybirds is created by Jos Brölmann. He lives in the middle of the cultural heart of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Working for many years in the international creative and marketing industry, close to design departments, he decided to use his creativity in contemporary art. His recognizable and colorful work can be found all over Europe and the US. In a series of his paintings, Jos created an animated character which increased the impact of the message in his work. He named his characters Nosybirds and the paintings proved popular in exhibitions and online. (NOBI01 Look Up – h. 13 cm., NOBI02 Follow – h. 12,5 cm. & NOBI03 Review – h. 17,5 cm.)
Magritte, le Thérapeute
The Healer, 1967, reflects a number of themes typical of Magritte's work, such as the extraordinary within the ordinary, the surprising, the unexpected and the mystery. Via Le Thérapeute Magritte brought to life a figure that had already featured on several occasions in his oeuvre. However, this sculpture is based on a photograph dating from 1937 entitled God on the Eighth Day [Dieu, le huitième jour]. For this particular sculpture he made a plaster cast of an existing person, from which he used certain pieces. The bird cage is also a copy of a real one. (MAG07 – h. 20,5 cm.)
Maillol, L’Air
In 1938, the city of Toulouse in southern France commissioned Aristide Maillol to commemorate the pilots of the airmail service, l'Aéropostale, who had been killed in the line of duty. Its form was initially inspired by a small terra cotta sculpture Maillol had made several decades earlier depicting a reclining figure resting on wind-blown drapery. The artist often used the female form to symbolize aspects of nature like the sea, the seasons, and even a subject as exlusive as air. (MAI01 – h. 13 cm.)

The Discobolus of Myron is an Ancient Greek sculpture completed at the start of the Classical period at around 460–450 BC. The sculpture depicts a youthful male athlete throwing a discus. The bronze Greek original is lost. The work is known through its numerous Roman copies, both full-scale ones in marble, which is cheaper than bronze, such as the first to be recovered, the Palombara Discobolus, and smaller scaled versions in bronze. Boccioni
Forme uniche della continuità nello spazio (1913).
Parastone has opted for a new bronze colour for this famous statue of Boccioni, of which several casts were made after his death. In his ‘Manifesto technico della scultura futuristica’ he advocated experimenting with the simultaneous use of different materials in dynamic forms, with a focus on the “abstract reconstruction and not the figurative, form-determining meaning of planes and volumes”. The bronze figure with the telling title ‘Unique forms of continuity in space’ reflects his approach to life, as a futurist, which was lively, dynamic and future-oriented. (BOC01 – h. 15 cm.)
