Discobolus
The Discobolus of Myron is an Ancient Greek sculpture completed at the start of the Classical period at around 460–450 BC. The sculpture depicts a youthful male athlete throwing a discus. The bronze Greek original is lost. The work is known through its numerous Roman copies, both full-scale ones in marble, which is cheaper than bronze, such as the first to be recovered, the Palombara Discobolus, and smaller scaled versions in bronze. Boccioni
Forme uniche della continuità nello spazio (1913).
Parastone has opted for a new bronze colour for this famous statue of Boccioni, of which several casts were made after his death. In his ‘Manifesto technico della scultura futuristica’ he advocated experimenting with the simultaneous use of different materials in dynamic forms, with a focus on the “abstract reconstruction and not the figurative, form-determining meaning of planes and volumes”. The bronze figure with the telling title ‘Unique forms of continuity in space’ reflects his approach to life, as a futurist, which was lively, dynamic and future-oriented. (BOC01 – h. 15 cm.)

Paperweights
We have extended our museum Gifts collection with paperweights from artists such as Modigliani and Mackintosh. We have also developed a range of paperweights with birds both well-known ones and the more exotic species. Many of us started hiking to enjoy nature, the peace and quiet, being outside and of course the birds around us. So continue to enjoy that feeling with for instance the robin with its characteristic red-orange breast or the brightly coloured kingfisher. (PMOD1 & PNAT09, h. 3,5 cm. / Ø 8 cm.)

Soft background music wafted through the stale air of the Cosa Nostra nightclub. A federal agent entered the venue and asked for a certain Vito Calabria. The only fellow in the bar, a man leaning against the counter said: “I’m just a businessman, nothing else. Is there a problem?” (FO85552, the Godfather – h. 40 cm.)

In cooperation with the licensor and the J.P. Getty museum in Los Angeles, we have added a replica of the striking bronze sculpture “Megalomania” of the artist Magritte, the 3D version of his painting Delusions of Grandeur from 1962. (MAG06 – h. 18 cm.)
