Koson

Ohara Koson (1877-1945)

Koson was born in 1877 in Kanazawa as Ohara Matao. He was a member of the Shin-hanga movement, that reinvigorated ukyio-e woodblock-printing from de Edo en Meji periods. He dedicated himself to creating popular ‘kashō-ga’ or flower scenes with birds in woodblock prints.
