In France, the cat was fitted with glossy glass eyes and placed on a gilded bronze stool with a richly decorated cushion. The stool of this replica is also gilded.

These exceptional pieces were highly sought after by the most discerning collectors. It is said that Purrquoise was part of the collection of the Marquise de Pompadour.
